Anthropic is significantly upgrading its Claude AI assistant with powerful new features aimed at enhancing productivity and research capabilities. The company has announced the rollout of Claude Integrations and a revamped Advanced Research tool, both available in beta for Claude Max, Team, Enterprise, and soon Pro subscribers.
The new Integrations feature allows Claude to connect with third-party apps, pulling in real-time data from tools like Atlassian, Zapier, PayPal, Intercom, Cloudflare, and Square. Powered by Anthropic’s Model-Connected Protocol (MCP), this functionality enables Claude to take meaningful actions across various platforms. Whether it’s summarizing documents in Confluence or automating workflows via Zapier, Claude now becomes a more context-aware AI assistant that understands user environments and task histories.
Anthropic emphasized the productivity benefits in its blog post, stating, “When Claude connects to your tools, it gains a deeper understanding of your projects and can take intelligent actions based on context — from task status to historical collaboration data.”
In parallel, the upgraded Advanced Research capability transforms Claude into a high-efficiency research assistant. This new system allows Claude to scan hundreds of internal and external sources — including web content, cloud accounts, and local drives (via Claude’s desktop app)—to generate highly detailed and citation-rich research reports. The process is modular: Claude breaks down user queries into smaller parts, researches them independently, and then synthesizes the findings into a cohesive document. Reports are typically generated within five to 45 minutes.
With AI competitors like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot rapidly expanding their own research features, Anthropic is pushing to stay ahead. The company says Claude’s new research system uses advanced reasoning models to fact-check and contextualize information, improving depth and reliability compared to earlier versions.
The updates come at a time when Anthropic is aiming for significant growth, with revenue goals reportedly targeting $34.5 billion by 2027. Current annualized revenue, according to sources, stood at approximately $1.4 billion in early 2025. To support this trajectory, Anthropic also increased usage limits for Claude Code, its AI-driven coding assistant, for Max users.
As AI assistants evolve from passive responders to proactive collaborators, Anthropic’s latest enhancements position Claude as a powerful, multi-functional productivity tool—capable of automating workflows, conducting deep research, and integrating seamlessly with enterprise environments.
